Get ready for Spring because it is coming sooner than expected.  It’s time to change the clocks again!  Spring your clocks forward one hour as Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 14 at 2 a.m.

Today I heard many different opinions on the benefit or lack of benefit derived from participating with this practice of altering time twice per year.  Some American states and some counties within certain states do not follow Daylight Saving Time.  It seems that no one can agree on whether the time change saves energy or actually benefits the farmers harvesting and transporting crops to market.

If you live in an area that follows the mandate, no matter whether you agree or not, the time is upon us to change the clocks.  By the calendar, Spring begins next Saturday, March 20 so consider it a head start on the season and plan a new marketing strategy.  People tend to spend more time indoors in the winter months and are ready to get out in the open on sunny days.  Walk your neighborhood to get reacquainted with neighbors and you might discover someone who is ready to list their property or who may share a referral with you.  Either way, it will be a nice experience.

Before too long, it will be time to adjust your clocks again.  Mark your calendar on November 7, 2010 at 2 a.m. to fall back to standard time.  If you want to plan ahead a few seasons, NASA has a Daylight Saving Time chart valid through 2015.

Happy Spring!
